Best Places to Survive Climate Change

BASICS - Food, Water and Economic Stability
1st world nations that have wealth - Europe, U.S.A. You'll have some semblance of security during chaotic economic shifts and social order breakdowns.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS - Health-care, employment, personal safety. In the event dramatic shifts in the climate causing extreme poverty and chaos among the third world; terrorism and violence among city states and even our own communities will become prevalent.

RELOCATION RECOMMENDATIONS
  1. Avoid shorelines, arid climates, seek either tropical or marine temperate climates.
  2. Avoid large and medium population centers.
  3. Consider rural environments and even prepare as in a survivalist mentality with a protective perimeter around your home, a safe house, a 6 month supply of dry goods and access to potable water.
  4. Maintain basic supplies, medicines, tools and become self-sufficient as is possible in energy, water, and food.
GEOGRAPHIC CONSIDERATIONS
Rural regions in central Europe and U.S.A. avoid latitudes below 41st parallel due to infectious disease migration of insects carrying malaria, Dengue fever and the like.
VIDEO Jeremy Rifkin on Climate Change:

IMMINENT CLIMATIC SHIFT WARNING SIGNS
Time frames [Several decades / 20 years /2030]
Distributed energy design, a resource based self-staining economy, that will help us through the impending climatic changes.
I suspect and am hopeful that with your efforts both a model and sanctuary will manifest as we see the poles ice free, sea levels rise, food shortages, drought, flooding, all by 2030. The timing is NOW.

Temperature changes of 3 degrees haven't happened in 3 million years. It could go to six degrees by the end of the century meaning certain extinction for our species.
  • If we don't change our direction dramatically by 2015 scientists state that changes will escalate automatically no matter what we do to change them.
  • Escalation will be by magnitudes, hurricanes, tornadoes, severe storms, drought, heat waves.
  • The Power Grid is extremely sensitive: ie the capacitor failure on the E. coast, terrorist, weather, solar flares and so on are some of the hazards.
A distributed power system grid could access unlimited energy where it is most needed.

No longer soft energy but fed back into the grid from every household, every building on the planet through solar panels, heat pumps, wind and so on.
  • Europe is spending eight billion to develop just such a grid.
  • We need to rebuild, retool every building that would capture 30% of carbon emissions.
  • There's the meat industry and methane,
  • We've got to get off the pesticide, fertilizers,
  • Use the waste efficiently, whether animal, human, garbage, etc.
NOTE:
  • If CO2 and deforestation of the Amazon is not significantly altered in the next 10 years; then assume the worst case, since climate recovery takes decades longer even after we finally take action.
  • Watch when the two great ice masses formed over land melt that will increase sea level:
These are:
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
Education - Intentional Communities - Energy
  1. Learn and acquire texts on health, medicine, gardening, permaculture, home maintenance, geography, biology, botany, auto mechanics, electrical, plumbing.
  2. Learn how to make things from local resources: keywords: sustainability, living off the land, etc.
  3. Familiarize yourself with small sustainable coops, using wind, small hydro systems, solar, algae eating fish and so on.  www.onecommunityranch.com

A HOPEFUL FUTURE or NOT!
Even after we suffer a collapse of species, economies we will give rise new a new respect and greater awareness of our responsibility to each other and our planet. People are already shifting their consciousness beyond our media hyped imagery and ego-centrism to a more personal and rewarding focus stemming from our search to find ourselves.

This discovery will show us that we are not our careers, wealth or titles rather it is our infinitely expanding connectivity, of cause and effect, that we are not our thoughts or egos but something quite simple as being aware, conscious and giving grace for every moment, and realizing how sacred that truly is.
